This six-part educational guide is undoubtedly a new milestone in textbook creation. For the first time, practical material for teaching reading and writing is carefully and engagingly combined in one book. This guide is designed to make children want to read and write and to feel joy from being able to do so. The first part of the guide is intended for the pre-letter stage of literacy learning, parts 2-5 cover the letter stage, and the 6th part addresses the post-letter stage of learning. It is aimed at children with varying levels of preschool reading preparation: for those students learning to read, the reading material uses only the letters they have learned; the guide also includes texts and tasks for children who can read to some extent, creating conditions for differentiated work with different groups of students during lessons. A highlight of the guide is the use of new, interesting texts for modern first graders, competency-oriented tasks, and functional tasks. The authors appeal to the child's channels of perceiving the world, engaging emotional and visual memory to form psychological readiness for reading and writing through play, without instructions or coercion. The guide will speak to the child, talk, and sing along with them. QR codes with links to audio files contain listening texts voiced by professional narrators, whose speech will serve as a model for students. After listening, students work on tasks aimed at checking their understanding of the oral information. To help young schoolchildren overcome the common barrier to learning writing, the authors suggest starting with printed letters. Special attention is given to developing writing skills in left-handed children: a letter sample is placed at the end of the line in case the child covers the sample at the beginning of the line with their hand. Arrows above the letters remind children (especially left-handers) where to start writing the letter and which part of the letter is written first. The guide is also convenient for teachers: considering the level of reading and speech skills of the class, the teacher independently determines the volume and frequency of tasks. Tasks for the texts are included in the guide itself but in small print intended for adult readers. We aimed to create not just an educational guide but a children's book with bright illustrations, linguistic curiosities, and a strong patriotic foundation.
